Sometimes you can treat a stain over and over again to no avail. When this happens, it can be tough to determine when it’s time to entirely give up on the garment. Should you find yourself in such a situation, consider the following tips:
- Tough dye-based stains will likely never entirely disappear. These include permanent markers and many types of paint. If you try to remove such a stain and don’t see significant improvement, you probably won’t be able to remove the stain without damaging the garment.
- If you’ve treated a stain multiple times and have reached a point where you don’t see any improvement after a treatment, it’s probably not going to get any better.
- Delicate fabrics, including silk, satin, and chiffon, are more likely to fall apart in the stain-removal process. You should consider whether the risk of damaging the garment makes the work of removing the stain worthwhile. If the garment is important to you, consider bringing such a garment in to our Bellevue dry cleaning.
